Class of 2018

Myles Crawford. Myles died on November 18, 2020.

His obituary: Myles Bernard Crawford, July 4, 2000 – November 18, 2020. Seaman Myles Bernard Crawford, age 20, transitioned from this world on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. Myles was born on July 4, 2000 in Kennesaw, Georgia to Shana and William Penn Crawford III. Myles was the youngest child born to the Crawfords. Myles graduated from Sprayberry High School in May 2018. During his high school years, he was a member of the Sprayberry ROTC and played on the Freshman and Junior Varsity Basketball Teams. During the off season, he enjoyed playing AAU basketball. Small but mighty on the court, he was a force to be reckoned with. Shortly after graduation, Myles enlisted in the United States Navy. He graduated from boot camp in March 2019 and was then commissioned onto the USS Delbert D. Black (DDG 119). Myles was a gentle soul who never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his family and was happiest when he was with them for Sunday dinner at grandma's house. He lived life on his terms and was a leader among his peers. His favorite pastimes included basketball and gaming, but one of the amazing things he did was teach himself how to do a back tuck and front flip with no hands. Myles had a bright and energetic personality and was known for his beautiful smile. He genuinely cared for others and valued his friendships among classmates and shipmates. While in the Navy, Myles served as a Culinary Specialist and had the opportunity to travel to Iceland, Norway, Spain, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey and Africa. Myles is cherished by his loving parents, William and Shana and siblings Cameron and Nia. He will be missed by his maternal great-grandfather Eddie Shannon, grandparents Herbert and Fredda Shannon and paternal grandparents, Keith, and Vivian Crews. He will forever be in the hearts of his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A private funeral will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, 11:00 am, at Liberty Church, 1285 North Cobb Parkway, Marietta, Ga 30062 with the U. S. Navy providing military honors. The family will receive friends between the hours of 6 until 8 PM Friday Dec. 11 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.Georgia MemorialPark.com.
