Judith Johnson Brucker, teacher, 1956-1963. Mrs. Brucker died on October 3, 2019. She married during her time at Sprayberry and taught under both Johnson and Brucker names. This is her picture from the 1962 Echo.
This obituary was supplied by her son, Jon Brucker: Judy was born in 1933 in Harris County, Georgia. After graduating from high school as the valedictorian in Waverly Hall, she attended Women's College of Georgia in Milledgeville. There she studied education and upon graduating, she began teaching physical education at the high school in the town of Lumpkin in Stewart County, Georgia. She worked there for a few years before moving to Atlanta and teaching business education in Douglas County. She then transferred to Sprayberry High School in Cobb County where she continued to teach business education. In 1962, she stopped teaching and spent her time raising children. From about 1970 to 1980 she worked part-time as a substitute teacher in north Fulton County. In 1975, she obtained a Masters of Education from Georgia State. After 1980, she worked for Coca-Cola in purchasing and then by 1990, she worked for AVL Scientific as service coordinator. After retiring in about 2000, she lived in Roswell and was heavily involved in her ministry as a Jehovah's Witness. She died on October 3, 2019 and was cremated.
